Nan Zhou

Dr. Zhou is a Senior Scientist, Group Leader of the China Energy Group of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. She is also the Technical Program Lead for the Net Zero World Action Center, an initiative launched by the U.S. government to work with countries to implement their climate ambition pledges and accelerate transitions to net zero, resilient, and inclusive energy systems.

Marc LaFrance

P. Marc LaFrance serves as the International Coordinator and Net Zero World Initiative Buildings lead in US DOE’s Building Technologies Office. He also manages advanced technology R&D and helps implement policy mechanisms. Prior to his current role, Mr. LaFrance managed the energy analysis for the buildings sector at the International Energy Agency’s Sustainable Policy and Technology Directorate in Paris from 2012 to 2015. Prior international experience included an assignment at the Asia Pacific Energy Research Centre in Tokyo working on macro energy policy and economic analyses for the APEC region from 2000 until 2002.

His initial positions at the Department of Energy began in 1993, when he worked on the Codes and Standards program, the ENERGY STAR® program, and an Emerging Technologies lighting, appliance and equipment program. He managed the window and envelope R&D program from 2002 to 2012. During his tenure at DOE, his programs received seven 100 R&D Awards.

Mr. LaFrance received his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering in 1985 from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and a master's degree in urban systems engineering in 1998 from George Mason University. He also is recognized as a certified energy manager.

Mr. Totok Sulistiyanto has a master’s degree in engineering science and has been the Director of PT. Narama Mandiri since 2010. He has 33 years of experience as energy researcher and energy conservation expert both in buildings and industries and has been running a mechanical-electrical-energy consultant more than 20 years. During this time, he has undertaken a lengthy series of projects and studies for instance: various Green Building Projects; various Energy Audit Projects; The preparatory step in building energy standards; Reviewing the state of the art for Energy efficiency in buildings in Indonesia and ASEAN countries; Conducting the study of characteristics of the building stock and building types; Developing the code of practice for EE design and additional standard for buildings; Preparation of the models of EE and green financing schemes; Design tools for EE buildings and green building certification in Jakarta; Assessment of Electric Power Quality and Electromagnetic Interference; Energy Audit and Demonstration Project for Energy Saving Technology in The Department of National Education; Improving Competitiveness of Textile Industries and Textile Products through Energy Audit – Ministry of Industry; Energy Efficiency Opportunities And Investment In Indonesia – ADB; Indonesia HCFC Phase Out Management Plan (HPMP) Preparation – UNDP; Preparation of Indonesia Clean Energy Development – USAID; Assessment on the Technical and Financial Feasibility via Promotion of Waste-Heat Based Chiller instead of Electrical Chiller; EE Capacity Development Programme of Activities in Indonesia – IFC.

Totok is one of initiators and core founders of Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) where now he is one of Steering Committee Board Member in the council. He was pointed as the National Expert on AEMAS program (ASEAN Energy Management Scheme), he has been part of International, Regional and National affiliations such as in EGEE&C APEC, Global Alliance for Building Construction, International Energy Agency as well as ASHRAE president Indonesia Chapter 12013-2014, board of governor 2014-2015 & 2010-2011, Vice Chairman of MASKEEI (Indonesia Energy Conservation and Efficiency Society), member of HAKE (Association of Energy Conservation Experts in Indonesia), member of IABHI (Association of Green Building Expert of Indonesia), member of PII (Association of Indonesian Engineers), member of KNI-WEC (National Committee of Indonesia - World Energy Council). He holds various certifications like assesor of Energy Manager Competence, Green Building/Greenship Professional, and Building Maintenance Professional.

Mark Lister is co-founder and co-CEO of Asia Clean Energy Partners, an international consulting and advisory firm working to support accelerated clean energy deployment with a focus on markets in Southeast and South Asia. He is a leading advocate for expanded energy efficiency deployment, and has more than 30 years of experience in finance, energy efficiency and clean energy issues. He currently acts as a strategic advisor to multiple organizations on clean energy issues in Southeast Asia, including USAID, ADB, and the UNOPS Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership. Mark is global Chair of the Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO), a leading authority on Measurement and Verification (M&V) of energy savings from energy efficiency projects.

He specializes in providing trainings and for establishment of required infrastructure for Energy Efficiency (EE) and Renewable Energy (RE) technology and testing, essential for implementation of codes and policies. He interacts internationally with industry, decision makers, technical experts, government officials and researchers, on work related to building envelope research, policies, technical services, Business Match Making, technology transfer, deployment of codes and standards that creates demand for advanced emerging technologies. He has developed and built a state of art hot box and solar calorimeter for measuring building component and solar panel energy characteristic, and installed them in India and South Africa under US-DOE program.
